Use our stories

Media organizations and others are free to use our stories (unless otherwise noted) if they abide by certain rules. Our stories are licensed under Creative Commons, which provides the legal platform.

Our material and stories may not be edited, except for minor adjustments to time and location references or to suit different editorial style guidelines with regard to such matters as spelling and punctuation. If you publish our story online, we expect you to link to the original story (on our web pages). We expect to be credited, preferably in the byline, in the following style: “Author Name, Hate Speech International”.

We do not, under any circumstances, allow our material to be sold to any third party or to be commercially exploited in any way. Unless stated otherwise, use of photographs from our web pages is not allowed without explicit permission from Hate Speech International and/or the photographer/legal rights holder.

We normally do not permit the translation of our stories to other languages. However, in certain cases we may consider it, if we are able to ensure the quality of translation and if the requesting body is willing and able to cover the additional expense. Requests should be submitted to ks(at)hate-speech(dot)org

Legal disclaimer: If you publish our stories, you automatically waive all legal claims against Hate Speech International in case of any legal action by any third party.
